Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club
offers young men and women thirteen years and older an excellent work
experience as caddies. Caddies at Grosse Ile receive valuable training
and a work experience where they are expected to conduct themselves in
an adult manner at all times.
In addition, they will work outdoors, learn about golf and good
sportsmanship while earning a fair wage. Since a portion of their pay
is performance based, these young people soon learn the importance of
training, reliability, and a good work ethic.
Grosse
Ile is an active contributor and supporter of the Western Golf
Association / Evans Scholarship Foundation. Through this foundation,
caddies demonstrating high academic performance, good citizenship as
well as a good caddy record are eligible to receive four year scholarships
(room and board included) at the University of Michigan or Michigan
State University. To date, sixty-nine young men and women from Grosse
Ile have been awarded scholarships. It should be mentioned, however, that there is a
financial need consideration in the determination of eligibility.

In addition,
the members of Grosse Ile also sponsor another scholarship program
dedicated to provide tuition assistance to other worthy caddies and
employees of the club.
In summary, the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club
offers a fine work opportunity for young people in a healthy, safe,
positive environment. If you have any questions about our caddy
program, please feel free to contact Sean or Dan at (734) 675-3866, by

We would like to thank the membership for
your over whelming support of the Evans Scholarship Program. Over the years, 69 of our

Country Club and one other club, throughout the United States, have the
distinction of currently having nine scholars in school.
